How can I extend or shorten my contract?
Extensions:
All tenants are allowed to extend their rental agreement once during their tenancy as long as the room is still available.
Full degree can book upto four semesters in total. Exchange students either have access to one or two semesters.Trainees, interns, PhD’s, PostDocs and Researchers can book upto two years and all others can only book for one year.
How to extend the same room:
Click on the ‘Extend booking’ button in Dashboard.

NB: Students from RMC and ITU cannot make extensions or shortening offers. If you have booked a room in Øresundskollegiet, Tietgen kollegiet or Bikuben it is also not possible to shorten your contract.
Shortening for students:
Students cannot terminate their contracts early. Your rental periods are fixed, and you cannot cancel your contract after moving in, or more than one month
after the first rental day if you have not moved in.
For students who submitted a shortening offer before the 10th of May of 2026, these ones are still valid. Please check the process on our Booking Manual
Shortening for staff:
Staff can shorten their contracts if they provide a minimum notice period of three whole months plus the current calendar month.
Please send an email to us and provide a desired end date which must be the last day of the month.
