Access to a shared kitchen on the same floor. Be aware that some rooms have 2 beds that are each 90 X 200 cm whereas other rooms have 1 single bed (90 X 200 cm) and 1 double bed (140X 200 cm)

Important info

Please be informed that at this dorm there is video surveillance in all common  areas.

This is in relation to the tenants safety and will only be used in case of suspicion of theft, illegal entry or vandalism.

There is also a security company on site that take rounds every day including weekends. 

About the dorm

Umeus (Amager) is a newly build dorm which is very close to Søndre Campus , the IT University and Islands Brygge Metro Station.

Tenants have access to many shared facilities such as shared kitchen, study hall, group rooms, lounges, and a roof terrace.

This offers plenty opportunities to be social with other residents. 

Things to do in the area

Umeus (Amager) is located on the large island of Amager right next to  Copenhagen University South Campus and the IT University. 

Next to South Campus you will find Danish Radio’s modern concert hall featuring both pop and classical music events.

Living on an island has certain advantages—the public (and free) harbour bath at the Islands Brygge harbour front can be reached in just a few minutes cycle or walk. If you prefer green spaces and parks, Amagerfælled are in easy walking or jogging distance. 

Christianshavn neighbourhood is very trendy place also woth visiting as well is the bohemian Freetown of Christiania.

Key pickup

Please collect keys from Housing Foundation office during office hours.

Building related issues

For building-related issues please create a ticket in the UMEUS App, and then the Facility Manager will see to the issue as soon as possible.

If a severe water damage occurs or an electrical fuse blow, you must call the emergency telephone number

Damages that can wait until the next business day should be created as a ticket in the UMEUS App, and then our Facility Manager (maintenance caretaker) will check the issue as soon as possible.

Lock out / Lost keys

If you lock your self out during office hours, a new key chip can be made for 350 DKK. Contact the Community Managers on site.

If you lock yourself out outside of office hours, you can you can call the locksmith; Bagger Låse: +45 38 79 79 79. 

The service costs DKK 1350,00 DK. 

Always remember to have both the key chip and the key mobile app updated (“Just In” app).

If your key chip stops working, it can be updated at all entry doors, by holding the key chip up to the electronic pad and waiting for the green light to appear.at  The main doors are situated at building A, B and C entrances (at the back of the building) as well as on the electronic key pad in the B elevator.

Please note: We never provide bedlinen, duvets, or pillows. Please bring or buy what you require. We also do not provide kitchen items (e.g. pots, pans, plates, etc.) for your room, however the shared kitchens will have most kitchen items available.

Utilities

The following utilities are included in the rent:

Electricity, heating, water, and internet

Internet

All studios have their own personal WI-FI. 

All new tenants receive an email directly from Sentia, upon moving into the building. 

For any internet issues, please contact Sentia helpdesk directly at:

 +45 39 99 99 00. 

Sentia can only be contacted during office hours between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM (17:00)

Laundry

Laundry facilities are available in the building. Laundry is not included in the rent.

Obligations

It is mandatory to participate in the weekly common cleaning of kitchens. 

Active participation in the dorm’s community is expected.

As a tenant you will be able to book different common rooms for study, contact the community manager on site.

You are required to read and familiarize yourself with the house rules as well as the Residence Handbook before you arrive.
