Move out checklist

Make sure to look over your payment plan and check that you have completed all of the due payment.

You can read more about your payment schedule here.

While it is important to clean during your stay to avoid build-up, it is equally important that you do a thorough cleaning of both your room and the common area before your departure.

You can read more about the departure cleaning here.

It is important that you deregister your address with the correct authorities. This is important both in relation to future letter contact from the government and the university, but also to make it possible for future tenants to register on the address.

You can read more and deregister here.

7 days before your contract end date before 12 (noon), you will need to return your keys and additional items (ex. laundry card). The items should be placed in an envelope with your tenant information written on it and placed in the mailbox outside our office.

You can find an image of the mailbox and a guide on how to find it here.

Most commonly, tenants choose to receive their deposit return via their credit card. For this to happen, you’ll have to make sure that:

  • The credit card of the initial transaction must be valid 4 months after you move out.
  • The initial amount cannot be smaller than the deposit amount.
  • NB! We cannot change the credit card information. It will have to be the exact card used for the initial payment.

If this proves impossible, you will be able to receive the deposit return via a bank transfer instead. It is important to note that a return via bank transfer will include a transfer fee.

You can read more about the different methods and the process here.

After you have returned your keys and your move-out have been registered, a move-out inspection will be scheduled. The inspector will check for any damages and the thoroughness of the cleaning.
Please note that the date of the inspection cannot be moved, but that participation is optional.
Whether you will be able to attend or not, we recommend that you take pictures of the room after the cleaning and before the inspection.
If any damages are found or the cleaning is found to be insufficient, deductions will be made from the deposit.

You can find more information concerning the inspection here.

If everything in your residence is left in an acceptable condition, your deposit will be returned to you within no more than 8 weeks.

You can read more about the deposit return here.
